Both Trucks and Tedeschi employ members of their individual bands to play on Revelator. Revelator is a family affair, and not just due in part to the husband and wife collaboration. While the two musical heavyweights whose names grace the cover of the album are certainly the focus, it’s impossible to ignore the 11-piece band that brings this music to life. The reason might be answered on the song “Don’t Let Me Slide” which sounds like an ode to Trucks and their relationship. And with respect for Tedeschi’s own accomplishment which includes a series of Grammy Nominations, never has she sounded as inspired as she does on Revelator. Wherever Tedeschi wants to go, Trucks follows. Musically the two are a match with Tedeschi’s soulful and bluesy vocal style acting as the perfect compliment for Trucks. And who better to step forward than Tedeschi. And while there’s no modesty in his playing, Truck is more than willing to share the center of the stage. Tedeschi Trucks Band, has been a rise of humble excellence. His ascent from touring with the Allman Brothers at the age of 12 to starting the Derek Trucks Band in his mid-teens to now his newest ambition, the Since his pre-teens Trucks was nabbed a guitar prodigy.
